News | ECHA announces a SVHC review substance

On March 4, 2022, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced a public review of a potential substance of high concern (SVHCs). The review period will end on April 19, 2022, during which all stakeholders can submit comments to ECHA. The reviewed substances will be included in the SVHC candidate list as official substances.

The proposed substance in the consultation are listed as below:

ECHA emphasizes that enterprises need to comply with the requirements of regulations and fulfill the obligations stipulated in regulations. If the content of SVHC in the article exceeds 0.1% (w / W), according to the requirements of WFD of the Waste Framework Directive, enterprises need to carry out SCIP notification from January 5, 2021, and the SCIP notification information will be published on the official website of ECHA. According to reach regulations, if the content of SVHC in the goods exceeds 0.1% (w / W) and the content of substances in the goods exceeds 1 ton / year, the manufacturer or exporter shall notify ECHA. If the content of SVHC in the products exceeds 0.1% (w / W), the manufacturer or exporter shall fulfill the obligation of information transmission. The SVHC list is updated twice a year. With the continuous updating of the SVHC list, enterprises are facing more and more control requirements. It is suggested that enterprises should investigate the supply chain as soon as possible to calmly deal with the changes of regulations.
