The China National Standardization Management Committee issued a notice on the proposal for the national standard project "synthetic material surface movement in primary and secondary schools". The "new national standard", which is publicized, is applicable to the surface of synthetic materials used in primary and secondary schools. The technical requirements, quality standards and testing methods for laying the surface of synthetic materials in sports fields are proposed to increase the contents of design, construction, environmental protection and acceptance.
For primary and secondary schools, individual indicators will be strictly controlled.
It is understood that the revision of this standard is mainly from the perspective of ensuring the health and safety of primary and secondary school students. Compulsory contents are mainly in two aspects: (1) the limit requirements for the hazardous substances in finished products and raw materials of synthetic materials in the field of chemical properties; (2) the impact absorption and tensile strength of physical properties. The "new national standard" will have specific standards and requirements for finished products, solid raw materials and hazardous substances that may be released. The limit requirements for these harmful substances will draw on the existing mandatory standards, and strictly control the limits of individual targets for the reality of primary and secondary school students.

It is understood that the current standard "Eleventh parts of sports equipment and venues in primary and secondary schools, the surface layer of synthetic materials, sports ground" was implemented in October 1, 2005. The time limit is long, and the relevant toxic and hazardous substances are lacking. Some technical parameters need to be corrected according to the progress of existing detection methods. In addition, the standard only specifies the technical requirements, quality standards and testing methods for laying the surface of synthetic materials in sports fields, and does not cover the design, construction, environmental protection and acceptance of the laying surface of synthetic materials. The new national standard of plastic track will be added to design, construction, environmental protection and acceptance.
