2016 is the year when the consumer goods quality and Safety Promotion Association of China started in real terms. In the past year, the Promotion Council has overcome the difficulties of short establishment time, few personnel, and imperfect basic work. The work has steadily pushed forward the investigation of the quality and safety of 20 consumer goods and the countermeasures against counterfeiting and selling of consumer products under the new normal conditions. It has continuously participated in the organization of consumer education activities to promote the quality and safety of consumer products, "enter the community, enter the campus and enter the villages and towns", improve the management of consumer product quality and safety risk information monitoring points, participate in the revision of relevant legislation and standards, organize experts to provide support for the innovation work of the General Administration, jointly organize relevant professional seminars with member units, carry out the comparative test of third party consumer goods performance, and unswervingly launch public welfare consumer education activities, so as to raise the level of scientific consumption, rational consumption and green consumption of consumers.

Sun Dawei affirmed the work of the Association for the past year. He pointed out that China is a big consumer goods producer and a big consumer country. After years of development, the overall level of quality and safety of consumer goods has been greatly improved, but there is still a great distance from the growing consumer demand.
