Recently, the quality problem of plastic runway has aroused widespread concern in the society. To this end, the responsible person of the Ministry of Education said that after checking and confirming the plastic runway which did not conform to the quality standard through environmental protection, quality supervision and other authoritative institutions, it was necessary to eradicate immediately. At the same time, those responsible for sports facilities and facilities that were not up to the standard of quality or even "toxic" should be severely investigated and punished, because of irregularities for favoritism and dereliction of duty, and so on.

It is understood that the Ministry of education requires all educational departments to take effective measures immediately. First of all, after checking and confirming the plastic runway which does not conform to the quality standard through environmental protection, quality supervision and other authoritative institutions, we should immediately eradicate and arrange the sports teaching activities in schools properly. Secondly, during the summer vacation, invite professional departments of environmental protection, quality inspection and other departments to conduct a test and investigation of the newly built plastic runway, and review the bidding process and related contracts, and classify and reform according to the results of the investigation. In addition, the construction of the built and proposed plastic runway should be stopped immediately, the bidding process and related contracts should be re examined, and the quality and safety requirements should be further clarified.

In the near future, the Ministry of education will also jointly organize the Ministry of environmental protection and other departments to hold a teleconference on the special rectification of synthetic materials runway, and comprehensively deploy the investigation and renovation of the synthetic material runway on campus.

In order to solve the problem of "toxic runway", the Ministry of education will coordinate the relevant professional departments and standards development departments to improve the corresponding standards, speed up the revision process, enforce mandatory standards, enhance the scientificalness, standardization and compulsion of standards, and embody the principle of giving priority to students' health. Coordination of relevant regulatory authorities to increase the supervision of the production process of plastic runway, and further clarify the division of responsibilities between education, sports, housing, environmental protection, health planning, industry and commerce, quality inspection and other departments, and establish a coordinated work mechanism with multiple links and various functions. To prevent the lack of supervision in the production process, ensure that the quality of the plastic runway submitted to the education department or school is in line with the national standard requirements.

The Ministry of education requires all educational administrative departments and schools to strictly enforce the relevant documents requirements of the Ministry of education, and emphasize quality standards when signing contracts for sports venues with production enterprises. In the bidding process, we should select a qualified, reputable and a certain scale production enterprise, put quality first, and not simply take price as the main competitive index. At the same time, we should choose different site construction plans according to local conditions, choose different schemes according to economic conditions, geographical environment and climate conditions, and do not choose plastic runway as the only choice. In addition, it is necessary to intensify the accountability investigation. It is necessary for the educational departments and schools concerned to seriously investigate and punish the relevant persons responsible for sports facilities and facilities which are not up to the standard of quality or even "toxic" in the construction of sports venues in the process of building sports venues.
