In October 20th, AQSIQ released the results of the state supervision and spot checks on the quality of air purifiers in 2016. In this survey, 61 batches of products produced by 56 enterprises in 8 provinces (cities) were examined, and 3 items of 21 items, including safety index, performance index and EMC index, were tested. After inspection, 46 batches of 42 enterprises were qualified, and the qualified rate of spot checks was 75.4%. 14 enterprises produced 15 batches of products failed, and the detection rate of substandard products was 24.6%.

The spot checks were the first national supervision and spot check for air purifiers, focusing on the well-known brand enterprises in the industry. The number of enterprises surveyed nearly 1/5 of the total number of enterprises in the country. Of the 61 batches of products tested, 35 batches of products were implemented in March 1, 2016 GB/T 18801-2015 air purifier, the latest national standard, accounting for 57.4% of the total number of spot checks. For the products which do not carry out the latest national standards, their performance indicators are judged according to the implementation standards of the products being checked and the quality requirements expressed.

In this special spot check, we have focused on the following 21 items: protection against touching parts, input power and current, leakage current and electrical intensity at work temperature, moisture resistance, leakage current and electrical intensity, stability and mechanical hazard, structure, internal wiring, components, power supply connections and external soft wires, grounding measures, radiation toxicity and similar hazards, hazardous substances release, particulate clean air volume, formaldehyde clean air volume, particulate matter accumulation and purification, particulate matter purification efficiency (efficiency), formaldehyde purification energy efficiency (efficiency), noise, continuous disturbance voltage, and continuous harassment power.

According to the inspection, the main quality problems of substandard products involve 3 aspects: safety index, performance index and EMC index. It mainly includes 13 items, namely, protection against touching live parts, leakage current and electrical intensity at work temperature, leakage current and electrical strength, stability and mechanical hazards, internal wiring, components, power supply connections and external soft wires, particulate clean air volume, particulate matter accumulation and purification, formaldehyde purification energy efficiency (purification efficiency), noise, continuous disturbance voltage, continuous disturbance power and so on.

First, the electrical safety project is not qualified, there are 1 batches of failed protection against live parts. Under the working temperature, the leakage current and electrical intensity of 3 batches are not qualified. 1 batches of leakage current and electrical intensity are unqualified, 1 batches of stability and mechanical hazards are unqualified, 1 batches of internal wiring failed, 2 batches of components failed, and 3 batches of power connections and external soft lines failed.

Two is the performance item unqualified question, the particulate matter clean air volume has 2 batches not qualified, the particulate matter accumulates the purification quantity to have 1 batches not to be qualified, the formaldehyde purify energy efficiency (efficiency) has 3 batches not qualified, the noise has 5 batches not qualified.

Three is the electromagnetic compatibility project unqualified problem, continuous disturbance voltage has 8 batches of unqualified, continuous disturbance power has 4 batches of unqualified.

For the production enterprises that failed to inspect the quality of products in the spot checks, the AQSIQ asked the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to carry out the post processing work according to law. In accordance with the law, enterprises shall be ordered to stop production and sale of substandard products, and they shall be supervised and destroyed or made necessary technical treatment in accordance with relevant regulations.

List of substandard products

The AQSIQ recently announced the inspection and inspection of imported air purifier products in 2016. A total of 121 batches of products were inspected and safety items and performance items were inspected. After examination, the failure rate of safety items is 19.8%, and the rate of non conformity of performance items is 9.9%.

According to the circular, 22 directly under the entry exit inspection and quarantine bureaus participated in the spot check. Spot checks involve 4 links, 34 brands, 15 original countries or regions and 121 batches of products. The inspection items are safety items and performance items. After inspection, 24 batches of products involved in safety projects were unqualified, the failure rate of safety items was 19.8%, 12 batches of products involved in the performance items did not conform to the national standards of recommendation, and the rate of nonconformity of performance items was 9.9%. (Note: the same item may involve safety items at the same time unqualified and performance items do not meet).

The quality problems of unqualified products include 3 items, including signs and instructions, power supply connections and external soft lines, grounding measures. The substandard products of safety projects involve Blueair, Brighton, Camfil, clean air, ECOTRONIX, expansion electronic, FASFLO, Honeywell, oransi, Honeywell, orst, Dr. Weil, Hitachi, Yi Kou, intelsworth, etc.

Performance indicators do not meet the quality problems of products, including noise, clean air volume, purification efficiency, standby power and so on 4 items. The performance items do not conform to the products, involving brands such as Dyson, FASFLO, LG, orst, Kohler, Hitachi, Xin Yi, intorus INTER LINX and so on.

AQSIQ said that the inspection and Quarantine Bureau must strictly deal with the unqualified goods found in the supervision spot checks. First, the importers of unqualified goods should be ordered to carry out the rectification and reexamination, investigate and deal with the commodities with quality problems, and strengthen the tracing and spot checks on the common problems of similar commodities; two, inform the local governments and relevant departments of the results of the supervision and inspection, and provide reference for the relevant government departments to grasp the quality of the imported commodities and formulate relevant policies and measures; three, timely release the results of the supervision and inspection, so as to facilitate consumers to understand the commodity quality and safety information, and effectively safeguard consumers' personal and property safety.

Performance items are not in line with the situation.
