Special note: toys exported to the Gulf area should be labeled with GCTS.

Recently, from the Jiangsu inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the Gulf organization of Standardization (GSO) issued the latest regulations. Since January 1st this year, all products that need to be designated by the Notified Body (NB) of the institution need to add GSO compliant retroactive identification GCTS (GSO Conformity Tracking Symbol) with NB numbers and two-dimensional codes, and will be mandatory as from April 1st this year.

As the largest producer of toys in the world, China makes 73% of the total toy sales in the world. The situation that the main export destination in Europe and the United States has been broken has been broken. Many Chinese toy enterprises are trying to develop new markets by diversifying their trade partners to make up for the gap between the European and American markets, and the toy market of the Gulf countries has become a potential development area for toy enterprises. The upgrading of the toy safety standards of the Gulf States is bound to bring new challenges to China's toy exports.

The toy enterprises exporting to the Gulf area must certify the relevant toy products in accordance with the GCC, and issue certificates through third party certification to prove that their quality conforms to the GSO standards and safety requirements. After verification by the verification system, they can enter the market and put them into the market. Any toy that does not meet the GSO safety standards will not be sold in the Gulf state market.

Here, the Jiangsu Bureau of light industry products and children's products inspection center reminds the relevant export enterprises to pay close attention to the latest technical regulations and requirements of the emerging market countries such as the Gulf region, such as the latest technology trade measures in recent years for the Middle East countries to introduce a large number of commodities for children's products and food contact materials according to the EU standards. On the one hand, enterprises should carry out targeted research and actively use the country's safety standards to entrust a testing institution for testing so as to prevent the relevant products from entering the other market because of not meeting the relevant requirements, resulting in significant economic losses. On the other hand, enterprises should speed up technological transformation, make timely transformation and upgrading, introduce new and high technology, improve the ability of innovation and management, and continuously enhance the added value and international competitiveness of products. At the same time, the inspection and quarantine departments should also do well in the collection and analysis of relevant information, make full use of the advantages of talents, information and administrative resources to help enterprises fully understand and effectively deal with technical trade measures.
